Icon Foundry Privacy Statement
Effective date: 14 August 2026 Last updated: 14 August 2026
Icon Foundry is a macOS application developed by ROSE Development. This Privacy Statement explains how information is handled when you use Icon Foundry or contact us about the app.
1. Who we are
ROSE Development is the controller for personal data that you voluntarily provide to us in connection with Icon Foundry.
ROSE Development Dirk Altalaan 8 8881 EV Terschelling-West The Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (KvK): 01060354 Email: info@rosedev.nl Telephone: +31 (0)6 53182418
2. Information handled by the app
Icon Foundry does not require an account and does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share personal data with ROSE Development or third parties. The app contains no advertising, tracking, analytics, telemetry, or third-party data-collection SDKs. Its design, rendering, validation, and export features work locally on your Mac.
The app handles the following information only on your device:
Projects and artwork. Project files, imported SVG, PDF, PNG, and JPEG artwork, and exported assets remain on your Mac in locations you choose. Icon Foundry accesses files and folders only when you select them through standard macOS file panels, drag and drop, or normal document operations.
Recovery data. The app may temporarily store local recovery snapshots in its Application Support folder so that unsaved work can be restored after an interruption. A snapshot is removed after it is restored, discarded, or no longer needed by the active editing session.
Preferences. Workspace settings, such as sidebar and inspector widths, may be stored locally in macOS preferences.
Clipboard data. If you copy or paste layers, the relevant project data is placed on or read from the macOS clipboard at your request.
Screen colour sampling. If you use the eyedropper, macOS may ask for Screen Recording permission. Icon Foundry uses the selected pixel only to determine its colour. The app does not record, retain, or transmit screenshots or screen content.
You control these files and settings through macOS and the app. Deleting the app does not automatically delete project files or exported assets that you saved elsewhere.
3. Support and other voluntary contact
If you contact ROSE Development for support, feedback, or another enquiry, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, message, diagnostic description, and attachments.
We use this information only to:
respond to and manage your request;
diagnose a problem you reported;
improve the app based on your feedback; or
establish, exercise, or defend legal claims when necessary.
Depending on the circumstances, the legal basis is taking steps at your request or performing a contract, our legitimate interest in providing support and improving Icon Foundry, compliance with a legal obligation, or your consent where required.
Support information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes and any applicable legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution requirements. It is then deleted or anonymised.
We do not sell support information. It may be processed by service providers that host our website or email on our behalf, under appropriate contractual and security obligations. We may also disclose information where required by law or where necessary to protect legal rights. If personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we use a legally recognised transfer mechanism where required.
4. Apple and external services
Icon Foundry can open your default browser or email application when you choose a website or contact link. Your use of those services is governed by their own privacy terms.
Apple may independently process information related to App Store downloads, purchases, software updates, and any diagnostics or analytics you choose to share through macOS. Icon Foundry itself does not transmit that information. Apple handles it under Apple’s own privacy policy and terms.
5. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal data held by ROSE Development, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or an objection to certain processing, and the right to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
To exercise a right, email info@rosedev.nl. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or your local supervisory authority.
Because Icon Foundry project data stays on your Mac and is not received by ROSE Development, requests concerning that local data should be handled directly on your device.
6. Children’s privacy
Icon Foundry is not directed specifically at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children through the app.
7. Security
Icon Foundry uses the macOS App Sandbox and user-selected file access to limit access to local resources. We also apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to personal data that you voluntarily send to us. No method of storage or communication is completely secure, however.
8. Changes to this statement
We may update this Privacy Statement when Icon Foundry or applicable requirements change. The current version will be published at the privacy policy URL shown on the app’s App Store page. Material changes will be identified by an updated date at the top of this statement.
9. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Statement or Icon Foundry’s privacy practices can be sent to info@rosedev.nl.
